Serving God in the Parish
Baptism Preparation Group
This is a group of parishioners who prepare parents & godparents for their children’s Baptism. The purpose of the preparation is to show that the Baptism is important not just for the child but also for their family and the community to which they will become a member of. The Group meets six times a year and parents need to contact the parish Office for further information.

Legion of Mary
The Legion of Mary was founded in Dublin, Ireland on 7 September 1921. It is a lay catholic organisation whose members are giving service to the Church on a voluntary basis in almost every country. The object of the Legion of Mary is the glory of God through the holiness of its members developed by prayer and active co-operation in Mary’s and the Church’s work. The unit of the Legion of Mary is called a praesidium, which holds a weekly meeting, where prayer is intermingled with reports and discussion. The Legion sees as its priority the spiritual and social welfare of each individual. The members participate in the life of the parish through visitation of families, the sick, both in their homes and in hospitals and through collaboration in every apostolic and missionary undertaking sponsored by the parish. We meet after 10.00 a.m. Mass every Friday in the presbytery. New members are always welcome.
Piety Stall
A shop within the church is open after the weekend Masses and sells many items including cards, Baptism gifts, 1st Communion gifts, Christmas items etc. Come on in and get yourself a bargain!
Safeguarding
We believe that all members of our parish family deserve to be respected and treated as members of God family. We ensure the safety of all peoples, especially children & vulnerable adults. We follow guidelines laid down by the Nolan Report and we coordinate the CRB checks.
St. Cecilia's Theatre Group
We regularly arrange Theatre visist to the Liverpool Empire and other Theatres in the local area. See the church Newsletter and Notice Boards for further details.
The Guild Of St. Martha
A group of parishioners who maintain the cleanliness of the church. We meet every Wednesday morning at 9.45 for a couple of hours. New members are always welcome.
The Guild of St. Therese Of Lisieux
People pray and give thanks to our Creator in many different ways. We try to assist people in the beauty of flowers and church decoration. We ensure that there is a constant display of flowers all year but especially for Easter & Christmas and other important occasions. We decorate the church for weddings and other ‘personal’ celebrations. New members are welcome and you don’t have to be an expert flower arranger, just someone who is willing to get stuck in.
The Union Of Catholic Mothers
The U.C.M. is a National Catholic Organisation which runs on a national, diocesan and parish foundation level. We are a group of women who meet in the Parish Club every Thursday at 8.30 p.m. We have discussions, fundraise for important causes but especially pray and support marriage and Christian family life. You don’t have to be a mother, married or even catholic to join, as long as you agree to the values and ideals of UCM . Why not come along for a natter and a drink.
