Parish History
In 2002 the parishes of St. Oswald, St. Brendan and St. Cuthbert were merged forming one parish for Old Swan, with St. Cuthbert's church being closed. In 2007, on the departure of Fr. Brendan Rice, Fr. Mark Madden, the parish priest of St. Cecilia's took over the pastoral care of St. Oswald's in addition to St. Cecilia's.
Each article contains a history of the church, a photogallery (if available) and a brief history of the Patron Saint of the church.
St. Oswald's was the oldest parish, being founded in 1838. A timeline records the many changes to the parish and the activities in it's long history. Then came St. Cecilia's in 1905, St. Cuthert's in 1925 and St. Brendan's in 1960.
